Welcome to the speakup mailing list.
Speakup is a set of kernel patches to the Linux kernel which provide the standard screen review functions of any screen review package. Speakup runs on kernel versions 2.2.7 or above, 2.3.x aand 2.4.x.
Speakup is covered by the gnu (gpl) General Public License. It is freely modifiable and distributable, which means give it to your blind friends and neighbours.
Speakup is written by Kirk Reiser and Andy Berdan and an owes much to its participants and contributers.
