Alsa-utils configure problem

Hi Chris:  A couple of things come to mind.  Did you run ldconfig
after installing the ncurses libraries?  There are a number of
different ncurses packages available, one thing you could do is try
typing man initscr to see if you get a manpage for it.  If so, then
it's a path problem of some sort.  If not, then you don't have the
correct libncurses installed.
